We’re pleased that you’ll be joining us soon. To help you prepare for your new job, we’ve provided some guidelines for you to follow.

Step 1 - Life Benefits

Start by looking at the New Hire - Plan to Participate brochure. Inside, you’ll find a helpful checklist of things to do including how to pre-enrol in benefits before your first day.

Step 2 - Employment Eligibility

On your first day, you’ll need to bring identification to establish your employment eligibility. Have a look at our List of Acceptable Documents. If you use a document from list B, it has to contain a photo. Your identification must be presented in person. Photocopies cannot be accepted.

Step 3 - Direct Deposit

If you want to be paid by direct deposit, please download a copy of the Direct Deposit form, fill it out and fax it securly to BP HR Services US at 1-847-554-1651. Do not email it.

Step 4 - Confidentiality

Working at BP means dealing with information that must remain confidential. Please bring a copy of our Information and Invention Agreement with you on your first day. We have to witness you signing it.

Step 5 - Privacy Statement

To maintain our Privacy Rules, we have to tell you how we process your personal information. This statement gives you that information, including a description of the personal information BP holds about you and how it is used.

Step 6 - Code of Conduct

Shortly after your first day you will receive an email invite from My Learning (BP’s Learning Management System) asking you to complete a 30 minute elearning module on BP’s Code of Conduct. You must complete the BP code of conduct eLearning within 30 days of your start date. To find out more about the BP Code of Conduct or Ethics and Compliance at BP please visit the Ethics & Compliance intranet site

This training is mandatory.

Step 7 - Vesting Service

If you worked for BP as a contractor (leased employee), your time may count toward vesting service under the BP retirement and savings plans and eligibility for leave under the Family Medical Leave Act. If you believe you may qualify, please complete and submit this form to your HR Advisor to ensure that your time as a leased employee is appropriately considered.
